Happy Halloween! Ramp up your excitement for candy and costumes with Brandon, Josh, and Zack as they discuss a recent celebrity death, the monotony of regular water, and some current events in the world of video games. Also, behold: a butt load of listener emails!

And, as a special request, Brandon wants your nerdy/geeky Halloween stories! Email them to podcast@jumpkickpunch.com and we’ll read them on the next podcast!

Show highlights:

0:01:22 – Tom Bosley’s deeeead! Noooooo! Another beloved childhood memory bites the dust.

0:05:06 – Oprah gave her entire audience free Xboxes and Kinects. Wow, ladies, you sure do go nuts for video game peripherals…!

0:08:23 – Varying levels of anticipation to try Kirby’s Epic Yarn, solid enthusiasm all-around for Telltale’s Back to the Future. Aaaaand GO.

0:14:28 – Josh is excited about basically one thing that came out of this past weekend’s Blizzcon. Meanwhile, Valve has done something that’s basically outright evil. (Also, Youtube can go to hell.)

0:31:46 – Brandon recommends Super Meat Boy!

0:35:33 – Zack and Josh have discovered a way to transform disgusting, everyday water into a powder-based flavor explosion! Phew, we almost had to be adults for a second, there.

0:40:07 – The Green Lantern movie has a new power battery design! Okay? I mean, I guess that was totally necessary, because Hollywood.

0:52:17 – Intermission!

1:14:42 – At last, our first definition of a “Z Job!”

1:16:55 – With all of that out of the way, let’s get to Ben’s actual questions… startling revelations abound over the next half hour!

1:52:49 – Ryan writes into ask about Sony’s teased unveiling of a new handheld device in Spring, seeding a conversation which Brandon eventually deflects to next week’s recording… an act that proves curiously wise in light of more recent events.

1:55:33 – This week’s Crowley Question Corner delivers an alternate definition of a Z-Job (yessss!), and kickstarts a discussion about Halloween!

hey guys! I wrote a review of “Super Meat Boy” for your site:

    “Fuck this FUCKING Game! A+++”

  2. Funny thing about the Diablo sales. D2 held the “fastest selling PC game” record…

    Until Warcraft 3 came out…

and then World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade came out…

and then World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King came out…

So assuming “Cataclysm” comes out first, that will take the record, and then Diablo 3 will come out.

  3. Also Diablo 3 was shown in 2008 but was supposedly “in development” since 2001. I don’t believe that for a second.

well whats the definition of “in development” the name Diablo 3 might have been trademarked in 2001.

  5. You know, Valve doing this is nothing new. Team Fortress started as a mod for Quake before they hired the developers and made Team Fortress Classic for Half-Life. They probably would have hired more than one of the DOTA developers if the others hadn’t gone off to work on their own commercial DOTA-style games in the meantime.

Wow, the new green lantern power source looks like the Terminator had a green love egg with an Alien brood queen and attached a handle to it for convenience. Brilliant.

Not to sound like a broken record, but I’d like to see some more content on this site. The last game review that Jumpkickpunch did was posted in early October, and the last video content that was posted was well over two months ago. Is Jumpkicipunch going to eventually get a webcomic? Are the creators of this site ever going to write a game, comic, or movie preview? Jumpkickpunch seems to pump out nothing but podcasts, and once a month it might do something different. I think I speak for a lot of readers when I say less podcasts, and more everything else.

    • Personally, I’m working on a series of articles as we speak, but a large portion of it had to recently be edited out. We also have more video content coming. Rest assured, Brandon is at all times the busiest man on the planet.
